Arsenal will scoop more prize money than Leicester this season – despite the Foxes’ league-winning heroics. Mirror reports.
The Gunners are due to take in £101.0million from TV and commercial earnings from the campaign, bettering the £93.3million that will be given to the champions.
Tottenham, Manchester City and Manchester United are also all poised to earn more than Leicester, forecasts by the Mail on Sunday have revealed.
Leicester will earn £25million from finishing top of the table for the first time, while Arsenal will take £23.7million for second. Tottenham will now pocket £22.5million after tumbling down to third due to their final day thrashing at the hands of Newcastle.
But with 27 games screened live on TV as oppose to Leicester’s 15, Arsenal will scoop almost double the amount of income from that stream.
Arsenal will take home £21.8million from TV – a Premier League high – while the Foxes take just £12.8million.

The totals are worked out on the basis that each club receives around £750,000 per game shown live on TV. Every season, teams are paid out for 10 live matches, even if they are shown less times.
All Premier League clubs automatically take an equal share of £55.5million to boost their prize money totals.
However, the inflation next year due to the new TV deal means that Arsenal would take home £152.2million for the same performance.
