The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, on Tuesday slumped and was rushed to the National Hospital, Abuja, after the swivel chair he was sitting on caved-in, forcing him to fall and spraining his waist in the process.
THISDAY gathered that the PDP spokesman was immediately moved into the intensive care unit of the hospital for medical attention.
As at the time of filing this report, the PDP spokesman was still receiving treatment.
Ahead of the party’s congresses in Kebbi and Borno States, the national leadership of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has mandated that the party’s new membership cards will be used in the states.
According to the source, Metuh slipped from a swivel chair and was unable to get back up.
“He was rushed to the national hospital where I was an hour ago,” he said.
He added that the PDP spokesman was in stable condition in spite of the incident.
Metuh is facing a seven-count charge of criminal breach of trust and money laundering brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
His trial is expected to continue on Wednesday at the federal high court.
