FIRE ON THE MOUTAIN!!! Is Federal Government Behind Fulani Herdsmen?,They Kill More Than Boko Haram Yet
The reckless attacks of the people supposed to be the Fulani herdsmen are on the increase and unsettling since the beginning of this year. Meanwhile, many weeks passed but President Muhammadu Buhari is yet to address the killing by the herdsmen.
Eight local government areas, comprising Agatu, Buruku, Guma, Gwer-west, Logo, Kwande, Gwer- East and Katsina- Ala, have been under recurrent heavy attacks from the Fulani herdsmen.
In the recent attack on the Enugu state the number of killed people by Fulani militants has gone up to 100 while many churches and homes have been burnt to the ground. Reports state between 300 and 500 people were murdered in Agatu and other communities of Benue earlier in March.
President Buhari has threatened to deal with those blowing up oil installations in the Niger Delta like Boko Haram terrorists are being dealt. The Nigerian leader since his inauguration claimed some success regarding Boko Haram.
Nigerian army pushed the insurgents out from territories they once controlled, forcing them on the defensive. While the Boko Haram still has the capability to launch attacks on soft targets Buhari says that sect has been technically defeated.
The war against the sect is therefore far from over, but Fulani herdsmen seems to become more deadly than the Boko Haram. According to Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project the Fulani herdsmen killed 484 people whereas the Boko Haram insurgents – 330.
